Frequently asked questions
StarrFox is a free job board for open roles at The Boring Company. Here is what it does, what it does not do, and what happens to what you send.
What is StarrFox?
StarrFox is a job board that lists the current open roles at The Boring Company. On each role you can apply on the employer site, or sign in and send us a message about the role.
Which companies are listed?
Right now only The Boring Company. StarrFox does not list jobs from other employers or from general job boards.
Where do the jobs come from and how fresh are they?
Listings are imported from The Boring Company's public job board (hosted on Gem) about once an hour. A role that lists several offices appears once per office. When the employer closes a role it drops out of the feed.
Does it cost anything?
Free. StarrFox has no paid plans and no payment step. Browsing roles needs no account; messaging needs a free sign-in.
How do I apply?
Use the "Apply on company site" link on a role. It opens the application on The Boring Company's job board. StarrFox does not submit applications for you.
What can I send in a message?
Text up to 10,000 characters, voice or video recordings up to 3 minutes made in the browser, and files such as a resume. Each message can carry up to 5 attachments of up to 50 MB each (images (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, SVG), PDF, Word, Excel, CSV and plain text).
Who reads my messages?
The StarrFox team. Replies appear in the same thread on the role page. StarrFox is a separate site from The Boring Company's own careers page, so a message here is not a job application.
How do I sign in?
With a Google account or a one-time code sent to your email. There is no password to create.
Who can see my conversation?
Your thread for a role is visible to you when signed in and to the StarrFox team. It is not public and other candidates cannot see it. You can edit or delete your own messages in the thread.
